Green Shield Canada Visits The Wright Clinic to Celebrate Generous Gift

On March 31st, The Wright Clinic hosted an event to celebrate a vital partnership with Green Shield Canada to improve access to oral health care for vulnerable Londoners.

The Wright Clinic is London’s first and only not-for-profit dental clinic supporting those who experience barriers to oral health care. The clinic opened in April of 2021 and is celebrating two years of serving the community. Green Shield Canada’s generous donation of $285, 000 over the next two years will allow enhanced service delivery at the clinic on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, directly impacting the oral and overall health of an estimated 500 Londoners.

The event began with powerful testimonials from clients Cassy, Nicole and Jack who have accessed services at The Wright Clinic. Each story conveyed how improvements in oral health have deep and lasting effects on overall health and well-being.

Green Shield Canada’s Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Social Impact, Mila Lucio shared that, “the opening of this clinic has had a transformational impact on access to oral health care in London. At Green Shield Canada, we’re all about impact – our primary goal is to ensure that Canadians have access to better healthcare”. In his closing remarks, the clinic’s namesake, Dr. Ken Wright, echoed the importance of enhanced access to oral health care for all, highlighting that Green Shield Canada’s support in the first six months of the partnership has resulted in 293 more clients served, 421 additional appointments and over 1000 procedures as compared to the previous year.
